Synopsis
Things for Alex are good. He loves his wife, his daughter, his city, his job. But sometimes the force of life can crash against you. Sometimes everything you thought you could always depend on can be taken away. Sea Wall deals with accidental death and themes that might be upsetting for some.
Cast
I am looking for a really strong male actor, with a playing age between 30-45. This is a one man play, lasting about 40 minutes. Requirement of the playwright states no sounds effects or staging, just a blank minimal set. So the actor will need to have the audience in the palm of their hand from the beginning of the play and throughout.
Technical and Creative Team
I am delighted to have the fantastic Michael James composing some music for the beginning and end of the piece. We will also be looking for backstage crew for this double bill. Please contact our Production Manager, Tamsin on
Auditions
You will be given an individual 15/20 minute slot for your audition and will be asked to perform 1-2 pages of your choice from the Seawall script. We will also explore some improvised themes on the day, as it's a one hander I want to see how well we can collaborate together.
Rehearsals will be both explorative and collaborative.
All of our auditions are open to anyone. You don't have to be a member to audition, but you will need to join when you are cast in a production.
To express an interest, for a copy of the script, or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Director, Frankie Knight by email:

Synopsis
Most of us know the story of Helen of Troy, and the Trojan War. Homer tells it as the seduction of Helen of Sparta by Prince Paris, who carried her off to Troy. To get Helen back, the Greeks mounted a great military expedition, which ended with the deception of the Wooden Horse and the destruction of the city.
But – doesn't the deaths of thousands of Greeks and Trojans seem just a teeny bit excessive to retrieve the honour of one woman? Maybe there were more realistic reasons for the war - economic and political ones - and a different role for Helen …
Cast
We are looking for five actors in total.
Agamemnon, King of Mycenae. Male, age 45 to 60 Powerful and self-assured.
The King's Treasurer. Male, any age over 30, up to 65 Smooth and diplomatic.
Iphigenia, the king's daughter. Female, playing age mid-teens. Slender physique.
Helen, Queen of Sparta, Agamemnon's sister-in-law. Female, age 30 to 40
Odysseus, King of Ithaka. Male, age in forties. Ideally muscular physique (he's a warrior)
Self-assured. In the final section, Odysseus also becomes Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Audition Process
Our auditions will be in the format of group auditions, on the Sunday morning, afternoon or Tuesday evening. This is so we can observe the dynamics between the different pairs and groups of characters.
We may not use all of the 3 hour slot, but please be prepared to stay for the duration if necessary.
The playscript is available to read online - https://stratmastoris.wordpress.com/plays/ but parts will be available printed for the auditions.
