You Can Help by Volunteering at the NVT
We are a Charity and rely heavily upon our members for all our individual roles and activities supporting the live theatre productions. We regularly canvas members for help, whether that is on stage or back stage. Each year the committee members and other volunteering roles are up for election at our AGM - usually held in October / November.
To maintain our theatre and manage our ten annual productions we are always looking for keen volunteers to assist in many areas, often as part of a team, working on an area of the theatre's support activity. Theatre is not all about acting and being on stage - albeit that is very important too.
All of the roles in volunteering particularly where it involves dealing with the public will receive training. That could be in the bar, in the box office, answering queries from theatre goers about upcoming productions, etc. We will ensure you have the appropriate guidance and there will be someone on hand to ask if in doubt.
Below are some areas we are currently looking for volunteers to join the team helping support our productions and the theatre as a whole. However, if you have an interest in another area, please contact us.
Fundraising Coordinator - The purpose of this role is to lead upon and oversee the fundraising activities of the theatre, including quizzes and social nights, grant and trust applications, and all any any creative fundraising ideas to maximise income.
Front of House Coordinator - to manage the bar and front of house services, working with the Front of House team to ensure the bar is adequately stocked, ensure the bar has adequate cover for performances and other events in liaison with the Volunteer Coordinator. The person undertaking this role should be a Personal License holder or be willing to obtain one, plus bar experience would be an advantage.
Health and Safety Assistant – to assist the Chairman with overall Health & Safety activities, including H&S risks in productions.
Social Media Coordinator – to provide media support to the Theatre through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc to inform the public on productions and other items of interest promoting the Theatre. The NVT is keen to publicise its productions and social media is an ideal vehicle to promote our Community supported service. This role will involve interaction and coordination with other volunteers such as the Artistic Director, Publicity & Marketing Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator.
Diary Manager - To maintain the existing diary booking system for the use of theatre space for rehearsals, meetings etc.
Marketing & Publicity Coordinator - To oversee the marketing and publicity of the theatre and its productions. To ensure publicity deadlines are met and issue press releases and arrange reviewers for each production.
If you are interested in any of these the roles listed above, please contact us -
